Hemelina Muraoka
Hemelina “Eling” Racca Muraoka of Koloa died Jan. 7, 2010, at Saint Francis Hospice in Nu‘uanu, O‘ahu, at age 64. Born on April 1, 1945, in Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a laundry washer for 19 years at the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i.
She is preceded in death by her husband Tomeyoshi Muraoka, parents Domingo and Lucrecia Racca and brother Reymundo Racca.
She is survived by her daughters Maricel (Kelly) Muraoka, Letty (Alan) Yamagata, Marsha (John) Smithheisler; son Thomas (Irene) Muraoka; brothers Fidencio (Lily) Racca Sr., Nestor (Mila) Racca, Rogelio (Linda) Racca and Ikito (Nancy) Muraoka; sisters Perlita (Marcelo) Baldonado and Linda (Jun) Lopez; grandchildren Nathaniel Illastron, Kainoa Racca-Perez, Alton Muraoka, Renee Muraoka, Alan Yamagata, Lea Yamagata, Justin Yamagata, John Patrick, Leslee Smithheister and Zachary Smithheister.
Visitation at 8:30 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 20, at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa‘a. Burial to follow at Saint Catherine’s Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Harry Greenwood III
Harry Marshall Greenwood III of Kapa‘a died Jan. 23, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 75. Born on Dec. 8, 1934, in Syracuse, N.Y., he was a retired school teacher.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Kasadate, son Casey Greenwood Sr., two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 11 a.m., services at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 1, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery Pavilion. Burial to follow.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
