OK, so who knew Saturday was National Pie Day? Melissa McFerrin did and had The Right Slice and Sandy Poehnelt doing all kinds of pie thingies at the Kaua‘i Community Market at the Kaua‘i Community College. Now, what is coming up this weekend?
Meanwhile, Stacy Serquina was up in Kilauea with Michelle Lemy at the county’s 13 and Under boys basketball league.
Karen and Steven Matsumoto (he’s the roaster at Koloa Coffee Co.) were also out there along with son Tab. Both Papalina teams were playing so this time it’s all the way out to Kilauea to visit with Bruce Herbig, Matt Taba and Clyde Vito.
And it’s not Kilauea without running into Bill Troutman who was checking with the Rotarians at Kilauea School and trying to get the park set up for Gary Pacheco and the evening spaghetti fundraiser. The only person who was MIA (that’s Stacy’s term) was Juni Yadao (missed him at the Kaua‘i Museum Christmas Craft Fair) and Mits Yokotake.
Hats off to Donna Schulze for getting all the way to Kilohana with Patches so the canine could be part of the 27th Annual Keiki Fun Run hosted by the YMCA of Kaua‘i and the East Kaua‘i Y’s Men’s Club. Great job to all!
