The arctic blast hit Kaua‘i last week and people at the KIF soccer games were thinking how good Onipa‘a saimin or Kaulupono chocolate would have been.
Unfortunately, coach William Trugillo was busy coaching and coach Bobby Kamakele had his basketball game so everyone ended up huddling and bundling.
Dustin Plank of Ohio thought it was funny when he went to breakfast at Olympic Cafe and saw all the people bundled up in sweatshirts, jackets and sweaters. He said when he left Ohio, it was 13 degrees and he’s making everyone there go nuts by sending them the Hawai‘i winter scene.
Dustin (he shoots Canon, Carol Ann Davis) was at the Saturday KIF regatta and will have his friend from Germany here to watch the KIF paddling championships, Saturday from 2 p.m. He’ll be here until Feb. 2, so if there’re good things happening that he can photograph, just say the word.
In the meantime, Kenny Ishii is getting excited that Russ Hada of Da T.H. Company is here and will be meeting with him today.
Ray Blouin of the Aston Kaua‘i Beach Hotel is also got some exciting things coming up on the horizon as does Ike Cockett, Myron Lindsey and the Aston Kaua‘i Beach at Maka‘iwa. Stay tuned…
