LIHU‘E — The University of Hawai’i women’s basketball team dropped the second game of a three-game homestand Saturday night, 80-62 against Nevada at the Stan Sheriff Center, states a release from the UH sports department.
UH wraps up the homestand Monday night against Utah State at 5 p.m.
The Rainbow Wahine fall to 7-10 overall and 1-3 in Western Athletic Conference play. Nevada remains atop the standings at 4-0 in conference play and 10-8 overall.
UH was led by Keisha Kanekoa on Saturday night, scoring 17 points and added six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Kanekoa played 39 minutes and went 7-for-9 from the free throw line.
Sophomore Breanna Arbuckle scored 13 points in limited minutes due to foul trouble and Allie Patterson scored 11 points coming off the bench, including seven points in the second half.
In the first half, the Rainbow Wahine shot the ball well from the field, going 10-for-24, but the Wolf Pack shot 54.8 percent to lead 40-30 at the break.
Kanekoa led UH with nine points, four assists and four rebounds in the opening half.
The Rainbow Wahine conclude their three-game homestand against Utah State at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
