LIHU‘E — The Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors–Kaua‘i will meet at 5 p.m., Thursday, at the Mo‘ikeha Building, Meeting Rooms 2A/2B, 4444 Rice Street, in Lihu‘e. The public is invited to attend.
Hawai‘i Health Systems Corporation Kaua‘i Regional CEO Jerry Walker will update the council on the Kaua‘i facilities including West Kaua‘i Medical Center–KVMH and Samuel Mahelona Hospital as well as the various clinics run by HHSC, a news release states.
Gov. Linda Lingle created councils of neighbor island advisers to give the Neighbor Islands a stronger voice in state government. The Council of Neighbor Island Advisors – Kaua‘i holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the governor of important issues, public priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.
The members of the Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors – Kaua‘i are Stewart Burley, Linda Collins, James Itamura (chair), Maka‘ala Ka‘aumoana, Solette Perry, Barbara Smith and Matt Takata.
