Mitsuji Hada
Mitsuji Hada of Kaumakani died Jan.7, 2010, at his home at age 86. He was born on June 23, 1923, in ‘Ele‘ele.
He was preceded in death by his parents Heijiro and Bun Hada.
He is survived by his wife Hitsuno Hada; son Rudy Ordinario; brother Junichi (Eleanor) Hada of Wailua; sisters Kazue (Mac) Medieros of ‘Oma‘o and Misayo (Tom) Hirahara of O‘ahu; nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Wilson Yata
Wilson Shigeo Yata of Kapa‘a died Dec. 15, 2009, at Garden Isle Health Care at age 88. Born on Sept. 1, 1921, in Kealia, he was a welder with Kaua‘i Development Co.
He is survived by his sons Blaine Yata and Grant Yata of Kapa‘a; three grandchildren; brother Ronald Yata of San Francisco; sisters Edna Horiuchi and Rose Fushikoshi of Honolulu.
Services were private.

Kazuyuki Tsukuda
Kazuyuki Tsukuda of Kilauea, Kaua‘i, died Dec. 30, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 94. He was born on Feb. 19, 1915, in Waimanalo, O‘ahu.
He is survived by his wife Mildred Tsukuda; son Michael Tsukuda of Kaua‘i; daughters Kathleen Tsukuda of O‘ahu, Blanche (Philip) Panquites of Kaua‘i and Monica Tsukuda of O‘ahu; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Bert Tsukuda of O‘ahu; sisters Michie Sera and Sally Enomoto of Maui.
Services were private.

Lois Snodgress
Lois Lorraine Snodgress of Kilauea, Kaua‘i, died Dec. 29, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 76. Born on Aug. 13, 1933, in Gilbert, Minn., she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Harry “Skip” Snodgress; sons Gary Hlastala, Harry Snodgress and Derek (Monika) Snodgress; daughter Robin (Steve) Kaye; brother Robert (Iria) Champa; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.

Richard Tokunaga
Richard Rikio Tokunaga of Kapa‘a died Jan. 7, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 55. Born in Lihu‘e on Aug. 8, 1954, he was a self-employed painter.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Tokunaga.
He is survived by his mother Erin Tokunaga of Kapa‘a, sister Cynthia Yamada of O‘ahu and niece Rayna Yamada of O‘ahu.
Visitation at 4 p.m., service at 5 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 15, at Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission.
Arrangements are being handled by Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Ed Kunioka-Volz
Ed Kunioka-Volz of Kapa‘a died Dec. 13, 2009, in Portland, Ore., at age 52. Born on Aug. 8, 1957, in Salem, Ore., he was a retired refrigeration pipefitter for O‘ahu Air Conditioning Service.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Volz Sr.
He is survived by his wife Sheri Kunioka-Volz; daughters Nichol Kunioka-Volz, Lani Kunioka-Volz and Kacie Kunioka-Volz; mother Jean Volz; brothers Bob Volz Jr., Joseph Volz, James Volz, Stephen Volz and Phillip Volz; sister Maria Brinker; in-laws Robert and Dorothy Kunioka, Karen and Randy Kawate, Kieth and Monica Kunioka, and Scott and Lori Kunioka.
Celebration of life at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 16, at Kapa‘a Neighborhood Center. Casual or aloha attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.
Francisco Campos Sr.
Francisco Matute Campos Sr. of Waimea, Kaua‘i, died Jan. 4, 2010, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 92. Born on Sept. 12, 1917, in Piddig, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired irrigator for Gay & Robinson.
He is survived by his sons Rudy (Kathy) Campos of Simi Valley, Calif., and Francisco Campos Jr. of Lihu‘e; daughters Marcelia “Marcy” Mendonca of ‘Ele‘ele and Fely (Daryll) Dement of Hanapepe; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation at 9 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 15, at ‘Ele‘ele Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.

Roberto Butacan
Roberto Dominic Butacan of Lihu‘e died Jan. 11, 2010, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 66. Born on Aug. 8, 1943, in the Philippines, he was a retired teacher at Gardena High School in California.
He was preceded in death by his father Jaime Butacan and brother Florindo Butacan.
He is survived by his wife Carmen Butacan; daughters Tianna (Louis) Benedict, Megan Butacan, Kyra (Raymond) Butacan and Jorene Butacan; stepson Ric (Tracy) Ochoco; Cristy (Bertram) Almeida; Lisa Ochoco; Kelly (Chad) Nelson; mother Juanita Butacan; brother Wiwlson (Cindy) Butacan; sisters Caroline (Jack) Julian; Meryln (Richard) Powers; and 10 grandchildren.

Gloria Malama
Gloria Jane Puanani (Albarado) Malama of Lawa‘i died Jan. 1, 2010, at Queens Medical Center at age 67. Born on Sept. 19, 1942, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, she was a homemaker and worked at Waiohai Hotel and Waimea High School Bowling.
She was preceded in death by her son Edmund Malama Jr.; parents Vicente and Ida Albarado; brother Walter Albarado; sister Gladys Yaris; and hanai son Delbert Albarado.
She is survived by her husband Edmund Malama Sr.; granddaughter Roslyn (Jesse) Cummings; grandson Brandon (Karen) Malama; daughter-in-law Darlene Rita-Hooper; brothers Roland (Lorraine) Albarado of Honolulu, Ralph Albarado of Hilo and Jerry (Ellen) Albarado of Hanapepe; sister Joyce (Danny) Tomas of Lihu‘e; hanai grandchildren Shandiin Waahila and Kaliko Waahila; great-grandchildren Jaida, Ryder, Madison, Hunter and Maddox Cummings; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 11 a.m. to noon, service from noon to 1 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 16, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Cremation to follow. Casual attire is suggested.

Guillermo Jacinto
Guillermo Unico Jacinto of Waimea, Kaua‘i, died Nov. 28, 2009, at Kaua‘i Care Center at age 101. Born on June 10, 1908, in Mangatarem Pangasinan, Philippines, he retired as a tractor operator and irrigator for Olokele Sugar Company.
He was preceded in death by his son Joseph Jacinto, and his parents Julian and Eulogia Jacinto.
He is survived by his wife Juana G. Jacinto; sons Ernesto G. Jacinto and Amador (Jan) Jacinto; daughter Veda Marie J. Pascua; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 16, at St. Theresa’s Church. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Luncheon will be held at the Hanapepe Pavilions, near the tennis courts.
Casual attire is suggested.
