Dorothy Cordova Akau of Kapa‘a died Dec. 5, 2009, at the Kona Community Hospital at age 80. Born on March 3, 1929, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sons Larry (Katherine) Akau of Kapa‘a, and Charles (Robin) Akau III; daughters Carol (Wayne) Casil of Kailua-Kona, Sapphire Winston and Healani Akau both of Lihu‘e; brothers Peter (Betty Lou) Lopez and Gilbert (Geraldine) Lopez, all of Tacoma, Wash.; sister Harriet Bolosan of Wahiawa, O‘ahu; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation at 9:30 a.m., service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 9 at Lihu‘e Christian Church.
Inurnment will follow at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Dodo Mortuary, Kona.
