Sponsorships for companies and organizations are now available for the 5th annual Hawai‘i Hotel and Lodging Association, Kaua‘i Chapter golf tournament on Jan. 31 at the Kaua‘i Lagoons Golf Course.
Tournament organizers met on New Year’s Eve to get things ready for the best tournament, ever, states a HHLA release.
“We are so excited this year to be able to have the proceeds going to the HHLA educational programs, scholarship funds and many other programs that are so valuable throughout the year,” said Steve Yannarell, the tournament co-chair. “It is our opportunity to give back to the community where we live and work.”
Registration for the tournament is also available by calling Sandra Muragin at 742-4402.
Registration and a continental breakfast prepared by the chefs from HHLA resorts will start at 6:30 a.m. with a shotgun start scheduled for 8 a.m.
Entry fee is $440 for a team of four, or $110 for a single golfer and includes greens fees and cart, a continental breakfast and lunch prepared by HHLA resort chefs.
Tournament format is a two-person scramble with a maximum individual handicap of 24 for men and 36 for women.
Also available during the tournament a silent auction and prizes will feature hotel stays, golf certificates, dining certificates and more.
Contributions from community organizations and businesses will be accepted until Jan. 23, 2010, with the donor being showcased through signage, banners and public announcements through the promotional period and at the event.
Jolene Ogle, the administrative coordinator of HHLA, Kaua‘i Chapter, said despite the difficult year, the HHLA, Kaua‘i Chapter was able to accomplish a lot, including a final-minute contribution to the Kaua‘i Food Bank which helped 800 hungry Kaua‘i families have a brighter holiday.
“In so many ways, we were still able to have a positive impact on our community, our properties and we have represented our industry very well,” Ogle said. “It is now time to focus on the year ahead with our first event right around the corner — the 5th Annual HHLA, Kaua‘i Chapter Golf Tournament.”
Sponsorship opportunities for local businesses and organizations include the continental breakfast where the donor’s name will be displayed at the food stations, goodie bag sponsor which will have the donor’s name included in the bag of items for the golfers on each cart, deluxe lunch sponsor where the donor will be recognized with a personalized banner at the lunch tent where culinary teams from HHLA member resorts will be preparing lunch, individual hole sponsor where the donor’s name will be presented on a sign and placed at the tee box, a longest drive competition and closest-to-the-pin competition where the donor’s name will be on a sign on the designated hole and recognized during the awards ceremony.
