LIHU‘E — Island dealt the Kaua‘i Red Raiders boys varsity soccer team a 1-0 defeat, Saturday morning at Vidinha Stadium.

The Waimea Menehune and the Kapa‘a Warriors played to a 2-2 tie, Saturday at Hanapepe Stadium.
Max Drubba (30th minute) and Brycen Phillips (68th) had the scores for Kapa‘a.
Waimea responded each time, first from Torrey Santiago (45th minute) and then by Jordan Kitabayashi on a penalty kick in the 73rd minute.
Island will try to add to its win total on Wednesday, when it heads to Hanapepe Stadium to take on the Waimea Menehune at 4:30 p.m.
Kaua‘i will be at the New Kapa‘a Town Park to face the Kapa‘a Warriors at 6:30 p.m.
The varsity girls match of the day featured the Kapa‘a Lady Warriors and the Waimea Lady Menehune.
It was all Kapa‘a in this one, as it came away with another shutout win, this time by a 6-0 score.
Dakota Barnett scored three times on the afternoon, those goals coming in the seventh, ninth and 57th minutes of play.
Lily Fredrickson scored two goals, both of which came in a short span — the first in the 58th minute, the second in the 61st.
Sierra Mayer had the other goal in the 38th minute.
Kapa‘a will next host Kaua‘i, Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at the New Kapa‘a Town Park field.
In JV boys action, Waimea and Kapa‘a played to a scoreless tie at Hanapepe Stadium.
The Kapa‘a Lady Warriors JV girls squad took a 3-0 victory over the Waimea Lady Menehune JV girls.
Rachel Hinkel scored twice for Kapa‘a, while Chloe Fredericksen scored the additional goal for the Lady Warriors.
Kapa‘a will take on Kaua‘i, beginning at 4:30 on Thursday at the New Kapa‘a Town Park field.
Waimea is off until Saturday, when they head to Vidinha Stadium to play Kaua‘i at 10 a.m.
