LIHU‘E — For the second straight night, the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine basketball team was able to come away with a win against Kent State, this time picking up a 63-60 victory, Wednesday night in the Waikiki Beach Marriot Resort Showdown.
After Tuesday night’s exciting 54-53 victory, which came on Keisha Kanekoa’s game-winning jumper with 3.3 seconds to play, Wednesday night’s game was nearly as dramatic as both teams remained within a few points of each other throughout the second half.
The victory moves UH to 6-7 on the season and was the final game before the Wahine begin their conference schedule.
They will be on the road for their first two Western Athletic Conference matchups, the first of those battles against Fresno State at 5 p.m. HT on Jan. 6.
The second contest will be at New Mexico State, beginning at 4 p.m. HT on Jan. 9, before the team plays its conference home opener against Idaho at 7 p.m. on Jan. 13.
