Lorenza Pasion
Lorenza Sagucio Pasion of Hanama‘ulu died Dec. 7, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 60. Born on Aug. 9, 1949, in Lanao Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she and was a caregiver.
She is survived by daughters Tessie Pasion, Alma Austria and Rossana Pasion all of the Philippines; siblings Emilio Sagucio of Lihu‘e, Marcelo (Serlita) Sagucio of O‘ahu, Ana (Binigno) Aguinaldo of Puhi, Pedro Sagucio of Kapa‘a, Cecilio (Cresencia) Sagucio of Hanama‘ulu and Rosalina Sagucio of Hanama‘ulu; seven grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 8 to 9:45 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will take place in the Philippines.
Arrangements are being handled by Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Philip Kahue
Philip “Captain” “Dingo” Napali Kahue of Waikiki, O‘ahu, died Nov. 26, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 74. Born on Feb. 7, 1935, in Kahalu‘u, Ko‘olaupoko, O‘ahu, he was a lifetime former Waikiki canoe captain and surf instructor.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eliza and James Kahue Jr.; siblings David Kailio, Mary Kua, James Kimo Palauolelo, Hattie De Gala, Morris Imi Kahue, Eliza Esprecion, Arthur Kahue, Patrick Keawe Kahue and Martin Ka‘i Kahue.
He is survived by his brother Lawrence (Mary) Malone Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; many friends and Kalihi Kai Canoe Club Platinum Masters Crew.
Service at 8 a.m., on Sunday, Dec. 20, at Dukes Waikiki Beach (Outrigger Hotel). Scattering of ashes to follow.
Jade Vasquez
Jade Juan Henry Vasquez of Kaua‘i died Dec. 5, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 30. He was born on Oct. 17, 1979, in Orange County, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father Leonardo Vasquez.
He is survived by brother Ezekiel; sisters Leea, Pearl, Ruby, Casandra and Crystal and many friends on Kaua‘i.
Services will be held at later date in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Arrangements are being handled by Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral.
Gary Mitsui
Gary Noboru Mitsui of Kilauea died Dec. 6, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 55. Born on Oct. 3, 1954, in Lihu‘e, he was a proprietor of Mitsui’s Gas Station.
He was preceded in death by his father Iwao Mitsui.
He is survived by his sons Leo and Gary of Kilauea; one grandson; mother Tomiko Mitsui; brother Michael of Kilauea; sisters Janice (Carl) Sumida of Hanama‘ulu and Diane (Clyde) Mitsui of Kaneohe; uncles, aunts and cousins.
Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 19, at Anini Beach Park 1st Pavilion.
Casual attire is suggested.

Takeshi Kanekiyo
Taskeshi “Tuba” Kanekiyo of Hanapepe died Dec. 6, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 86. Born on Jan. 1, 1923, in Makaweli, he was a carpenter with Kagawa Contractor.
He is survived by his brothers William (Frances) Kanekiyo and Peter (Honey) Kanekiyo both of Hanapepe; sister Janet Yamada of Kaneohe; nieces and nephews.
Services were private.

Rosendo Romuar
Rosendo T. Romuar of Kaumakani died Nov. 30, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 95. Born on March 1, 1914, in the Philippines, he was a retired mechanic with Gay & Robinson.
He is survived by his sons Scot (Christina) Romuar of Kalaheo and Thomas (Ellen) Dias Jr. of O‘ahu; daughters Lisa (Fred) A. Rapacon of Hanapepe, Irene Dias of Kapa‘a, Lauretta Keuma of O‘ahu; Marie Lopez of Lihu‘e and Shirley (Steve) Nielson of Texas; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation at 9 a.m., service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 19, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo.
Casual attire is suggested; flowers are welcome.

Violet Sato
Violet Yukiko Sato of ‘Ele‘ele died Nov. 26, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 83. Born on Dec. 13, 1925, in Koloa, she was a retired supervisor with Iolani Sportswear.
She was preceded in death by her brother Tetsuo Konishi; brothers-in-law Haruo Asai, Wakamatsu Iwamoto and Yoneo Kaneko.
She is survived by her husband George M. Sato; son Clifton (Joyce) Sato of Kalaheo; daughters Arlene Sato of Honolulu and Sandra Sato of Hilo; grandchildren Elysse Sato and Jordan Sato both of Oregon; brothers Gary (Marjorie) Konishi, Donald (Mildred) Konishi both of Kaua‘i and Michael (Ruby) Konishi of Honolulu; sisters Kimiyo Asai, Natsuko Iwamoto, Linda (Yoshito) Kawakami and Elaine Kaneko all of Kaua‘i and sister-in-law Aileen Konishi.
Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 19, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel.
Casual attire is suggests and the family requests that flowers be omitted.
