KALAHEO — There are no price tags, said Robyn Herbig, the Parent Community Networking Coordinator at Kalaheo School.
When the doors open this morning to what is billed as a “Huge Rummage Sale,” customers simply browse through the offerings and donate what they feel is comfortable, said Gayle Thompson, one of the volunteers helping to collate the merchandise.
“All of the items have been donated by the parents of Kalaheo School students,” said Erik Burkman, principal of Kalaheo School. “There are some really good things for people to select from.”
Herbig said proceeds from the event will help Kalaheo School in the areas where budget cuts have been effected.
Among the items being offered are furniture, clothing, books, musical CDs. More unique items include a sewing machine with a stand, a foosball table, an air hockey table, and even a golf club set housed in a PGA Grand Slam of Golf bag.
The rummage sale opens at 8 a.m. and runs through 1 p.m. at Kato Gym, located across the campus of Kalaheo School.
“The best part is you get to come, go through and pick up what you want,” said Thompson. “And then, you just donate what you feel comfortable with and the school benefits.”
