Jay Pugh was one busy man, Wednesday, starting out with the Waimea Canyon Middle School Career Day and meeting up with students from Ke Kula Ni‘ihau O Kekaha to clean and label the biomes (that’s a Tom Clements term) outside the Pacific Missile Range Facility gate.
But he was not the only one out on the Westside as Inspector David Bukoski and “Uncle Daryl” Date were out at St. Theresa School for a fire prevention session and Capt. Shawn Hosaka was doing the Career Day thing at WCMS.
Hats off to Miriam Albarado for doing a great job coordinating the entire event with lots of help from the WCMS volunteers and staff.
Daniel Momohara was talking about building an airport out in Kona, and Jackie Kanna rebounded from the Kaua‘i Matsuri to talk about the work she does in graphic design.
Reina Teter, a Waimea High School student, has her career sights set on this field, and according to mom, Danielle, is on the Mainland doing commissioned work. Her sister Ember was able to run in the KIF cross country championships and finished as the No. 2 Waimea runner below Natasha Abadilla.
And Ember still made it to the JV volleyball game, too.
