Kristyn Kawamura was with the end zone team, and sister Kaylyn was at the 50-yard line. Or, was that the other way around? The Kawamura twins were busy helping Kevin Matsunaga (everyone got their car washed Sunday?) at Friday night’s football game. Darryl Miyasato and the Kaua‘i High School band was there, and it took some getting used to seeing Beth Cuizon in green. Beth was substituting for Catherine Paleka at the Kapa‘a section, and had the performers doing a variation of the school’s alma mater.
Hats off to St. Regis General Manager Milton Sgarbi who did a pretty good job of announcing Lady Ipo Kahunaele who performed the blessing of the new Princeville property. But rather than take the easy way out, hats off to Lady Ipo for allowing Milton to attempt and pronounce the Hawaiian name.
Kudos to Greg Gonsalves on hosting a great series at the New Kapa‘a Town Park stadium … even got to see the Kaua‘i Derby Divas doing Friday night practice.
OK, now it’s off to the About Face graduation in Kapa‘a.
