LIHU‘E — The Friends of Lihu‘e Library Fall Used Book Sale this year will feature thousands of printed volumes on an amazing array of topics, as well as a selection of CDs, DVDs, and video and audio tapes. It will be the biggest Lihu‘e Library book sale yet, a news release states.
The event is scheduled Oct. 2 to 4 at the conference room of the Lihu‘e Public Library, 4344 Hardy St.
The sale will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
The selection includes a collection of paperback and hardcover fiction, along with Hawaiiana, children’s books, reference books, self-help, art books, and travel volumes, the release states. Also, foreign language, finance, religion, science, literature, poetry and lots more will be available.
Most books will be on sale for 50 cents per paperback and $1 for hardcovers. However, some first editions, and a few rare or particularly valuable books may have special posted prices.
Funds from the sale go to support the public programs and services of the Lihu‘e Library, like the teen summer reading program.
The materials on sale represent books that are removed from library stocks during regular maintenance of the collections, as well as donated volumes.
The books are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
