The meeting will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall.
A presentation will be made on Act 183, which requires all Hawai‘i counties to identify and map potential important agricultural lands and review the criteria for determining them, along with the results of a pilot study on the Koloa-Po‘ipu-Kalaheo district.
Another topic that will be covered at the meeting is the formation of the Stakeholder/Technical Advisory Committee, a volunteer group that will help guide the process of identifying important agricultural lands on Kaua‘i.
Between 12 and 15 members of the community will be selected to serve on the STAC, including: farmers; ranchers; agricultural land owners; agro-scientists; engineers; educators; and people in agricultural-related fields.
