LIHU‘E — In recognition of the 20th anniversary of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month, the county’s Anti-Drug Office is sponsoring the Third Annual Kaua’i County Health and Wellness Fair, according to a county press release.
The fair will be held on Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lihu‘e Civic Center, rain or shine.
“I encourage everyone to take advantage of the wide variety of health and wellness resources that will be offered at the fair, and also to show their support for members of the community who are going through recovery or treatment,” said Anti-Drug Coordinator Theresa Koki in the release.
Free blood pressure screening, body fat analysis and other health test assessments will be available, along with free chair massages, demonstrations, and many other health-related resources.
Representatives of a number of agencies will also be on hand for consultation and to answer questions.
“It’s a time for us to come together as a community and learn more about healing ourselves,” Koki said. “My hope is the fair will help provide a way to further the idea of residential treatment and recovery centers in Kaua‘i’s anti-drug dialogue.”
