Pauline Silva
Pauline Bukoski Silva of Kalaheo died July 31, 2009, at Garden Isle Health Care at age 89. Born Feb. 13, 1920, in Koloa, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin G. Silva; sisters Elizabeth Tavares and Dorothy Silva; brothers Manuel Bukoski and Antone Bukoski.
She is survived by her sons Eugene (Kathy) Silva of Garden Grove, Calif., Nelson (Marina) Silva of Hanama‘ulu and Kenneth (Amy) Silva of Hanama‘ulu; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother Frederick (Helen) Bukoski of Lawai; sisters-in-law Marian Silva, Margaret Bukoski and Flora Bukoski; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Mass at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.

Evelyn Branco
Evelyn Branco of Kapa‘a died Aug. 9, 2009, at her home at age 54. Born on May 13, 1955, in Lihu‘e, she was a fiscal officer with the Kaua‘i Police Department.
She was preceded in death by her father Augustine Abara, mother-in-law Mabel Branco and niece Caryn Abara.
She is survived by her husband Allan Branco; son Justin (Brittni) Branco of Newberg, Ore.; daughter Kristin (Puna Holt) Branco of Kapa‘a; granddaughter Kayla Branco-Maxwell of Kapa‘a; mother Mary Abara; brothers Orlando (Carol) Abara, Rudy (Juanita) Abara and William (Rochelle) Abara; sisters Eva (Bobby) Cuaresma and Lani (Jimmy) Cuaresma; father-in-law Ernest Branco; brother-in-law Jeffery Branco; sister-in-law Donna (Kenton) Gomes; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 8-10 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. Burial to follow at St. Catherine’s Church Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested; flowers are accepted.

Yvonne C.L.F. Takanishi of Kekaha died July 24, 2009. Born on Aug. 26, 1947, in Honolulu, she retired from General Services Administration.
She is survived by her son Ralph Fukumoto Jr.; daughters Yvette Fukumoto-Park and Lavonne Fukumoto; mother Evelyn Nelson; brothers Alfred (Pat), Michael (Louie) and Kevin Louis; sister Eileen Murphy; stepsons Dane and Darrel; stepdaughters Dorie-Ann Rivera, Lena Takanishi-Tsubouchi; three grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.
Services at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha. Casual attire is suggested.
Mildred Emiko Omi Fujimoto
Mildred Emiko Omi Fujimoto of Lihu‘e died Aug. 5, 2009. Born on Sept. 12, 1930, in Lihu‘e, she was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by grandson Colin Sunada.
She is survived by daughters Sadie (Dennis) Sunada of Wailua Homesteads and Collette Saiki of Lihu‘e, grandsons Lane and Jared Sunada both of Wailua; great-grandchildren Juston Sunada of Wailua and Lilliana Sunada of Lihu‘e; and numerous relatives.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Annie S. Hussey
Annie S. Hussey of Lihu‘e died Aug. 10, 2009 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. She was born on Aug. 26, 1919, in Honolulu.
She is survived by her four sons, Solomon, Nelson, Isaac and Allen Kaai, three daughters, Mary Kekuewa, Charlotte Kaai and Charlene Molsbarger, two brothers, John (Monica) Wood and Elia Wood, one sister, Margaret Higgins, 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Aug. 19 at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. and again on Aug. 20 for a graveside service at Valley of the Temple in Honolulu.
Purple and white attire is requested.
Michael Valentine Chandler
Michael Valentine Chandler died Aug. 10, 2009 at his home in Kilauea. He was born on Oct. 1, 1930, in Wainiha.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Rosalina Chandler, late wife Maile and his siblings Angeline, William, Silas, John, Bertha, Loke, Agnes, Margaret Frances, Leo and Joseph, and sons Levi and James.
He is survived by his wife Merrilee Chandler, sons Walter (Elsie) Chandler, Michael (Gigi) Chandler Jr., Lloyd (Nan) Chandler, Jeffrey Chandler, Leo Chandler, Maka (Lara) Chandler, Pio (Adrienne) Chandler, Shawn Chandler, Monty (Umi) Chandler, 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Aug. 21 at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Aug. 22 at St. Sylvester’s Church in Kilauea from 9 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
