Kamee Nishihara
Kamee Nishihara of Koloa died July 21, 2009, at Garden Island Health Care at age 97. Born on Oct. 12, 1911, in Koloa, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mitsugi; sons Albert and Howard Nishihara; daughter Ann Ayabe; grandson Mike Nishihara; parents Yukichi and Yuu Kunioka; brothers Jiro Kunioka, Saburo Kunioka and Kazuo Kunioka; sisters Tsurue Okimoto and Matsue Pitts.
She is survived by her daughters Edna (Keith) Holdeman of Kalaheo, Gloria (Dr. Jack) Young of Pacific Palisades, Calif. and Thelma (Don) Chikuma of Bellevue, Wash.; grandchildren Beth Mizuno, Susan Yanagi, Glen Nishihara, Dr. Cheryl Ayabe, Dr. Sharon Ayabe, Eric Holdeman, Bruce Holdeman, Lesley Kamian, Dr. Jared Young, Stacy Logue, Kamery Nishihara, Marcus Nishihara, Nikki Cowling and Tricia Chikuma; six great-grandchildren; son-in-law Dr. Harold Ayabe of Kaneohe; daughters-in-law Rose Nishihara of Kailua, Hawai‘i and Lillian Nishihara of Hacienda Heights, Calif. and brother-in-law Tsutomu Okimoto of Honolulu.
Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 1 at Koloa Missionary Church. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests flowers be omitted. Interment at a later date.

Shizue Matsushige
Shizue “Dorothy” Matsushige of Lihu‘e died on July 27, 2009, at the Regency at Puakea at age 93. Born on Sept. 6, 1915, in Hanapepe, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son James (Christy) Matsushige of Lihu‘e; daughters Barbara (Lee) Owen of Texas, Ruby Ota of Kaneohe, Mary (Wayne) Tokuhama of Aiea; brother George Ozaki of Lihu‘e; sister Fujiko Nakayama of Hanapepe; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Casual attire requested and family graciously declines flowers.
Visitation from 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Lihu‘e Christian Church. Inurnment to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Matsushige family with arrangements.
Patricia Bergeron
Patricia Ann Bergeron of Kilauea died on July 23, 2009, at her home at age 51. Born on Oct. 4, 1957, in Worcester, Mass., she was a vacation rental agent with Bali Hai Realty.
She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Bergeron.
She is survived by her father Kenneth Bergeron Sr. of Marstons Mills, Mass.; daughter Tawn’e Bergeron Asing of Kilauea; brothers David (Roxie) Bergeron of Los Lunas, N.M., Kenneth Bergeron Jr. of Sebastion, Fla.; sisters Jo-Ann Bergeron of Marstons Mills, Mass., Sandra (Tom) Murphy of West Yarmouth, Mass., Betsy (Nick) Nicholson of Kilauea; hanai mother Irene Asing and hanai sister Nani Marston; numerous nieces and grandnephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 2, at Black Pot Beach, Hanalei Bay at 2 p.m.
Casual attire suggested.

Tsuruko Goto
Tsuruko Goto of Waimea, Kaua‘i died July 30, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 92. Born on Jan. 5, 1917, in Kekaha, she was a lunchroom supervisor with the Waimea Canyon School.
She was preceded in death by her husband Horace Goto; daughter Elaine Nishijo; son Nelson Goto; brother Masao Takekawa and Tamotsu Takekawa; sisters Shigeko Yamada and Mitsuko Takekawa.
She is survived by her daughter Bernice Asakura of Mililani; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Maxine Wortman
Maxine W. Wortman of Princeville died on July 23, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 93. Born on Sept. 10, 1915, in Linn Creek, Mo., she was a secretary for Sonoma County in California.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Wortman and son Robert Wortman.
She is survived by her daughter Susan (Karen Baldwin) Wortman and one grandson.
Services are private.

Edna Matsuba
Edna Matsuba of Hanapepe died on July 20, 2009, at Kaua‘i Care Center at age 91. Born on Sept. 15, 1917, in Makaweli, she was a baker’s assistant with Karen’s Pastry and Service.
She is survived by her sons Michael (Evangeline) Matsuba of Mililani and Ronald (Gloria) Matsuba of Kalaheo; daughters Esther (George) Kodani of Hilo, Agnes (Henry) Yoshimura of Kailua, Karen Matsuba of Honolulu and Helene (James) Watanabe of Honolulu; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Takeo Kakuda of Hanapepe and Yasuo Kakuda of Anaheim, Calif.; sisters Summie Wakumoto of Kapa‘a and Hiroko Louis of ‘Oma‘o; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were private. Family requests no koden.

Rodger Parks
Rodger Parks of Lihu‘e died July 24, 2009, at Straub Hospital at age 55. Born in Inglewood, Calif., he was the owner of Gold and Silver Trading Co. in Lihu‘e.
He was preceded in death by his son David.
He is survived by his wife Sigred Parks and children Heather, Amy and James.
