LIHU‘E — Former County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Rosa Flores has left her position for private practice, she said Thursday.
In her previous position for nearly six years, Flores said in a telephone interview that she wanted to work full time in different areas of the law that she couldn’t practice as a deputy prosecutor.
She is specializing in family law, criminal defense, estate planning and landlord and tenant law, she said.
Flores has 18-month-old twins who take up a lot of her free time, she said.
She said she is grateful to have left the county Office of the Prosecuting Attorney on good terms and with best wishes from her supervisors.
Prosecuting Attorney Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho, citing personnel confidentiality issues, declined to comment.
The new office number for Flores is 246-0129.
At Friday’s regular monthly meeting of the Kaua‘i Police Commission, Kaua‘i Police Chief Darryl Perry thanked Flores (who was not present at the meeting) “for all her hard work and assistance to the Kaua‘i Police Department.”
