Stanley “Stan” Quon Chong Ho of Hanalei died June 19, 2009, at Queen’s Medical Center at age 88. Born in Hanalei, he was a retired lead mechanic for Qantas Airlines.
He is survived by his wife Lilly Ho of Kaua‘i; sons Russell (Audrey) Ho of Honolulu; Stanton (JoAnne) Ho of Las Vegas; daughter Valerie Ho of Kaua‘i; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters Sarah Nunes of Kaua‘i, Florence Ching of Kaua‘i, Pearl Canefield of California and Joyce Fountain of Kaua‘i.

Rosario Acosta
Rosario Bigay Acosta of Puhi died on July 15, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 93. Born on Sept. 21, 1915, in Koloa, she retired as a pineapple trimmer with Kaua‘i Pineapple Caneries.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alberto Acosta; children Roger, Raymond and Caroline Abiva.
She is survived by her son Allen (Eunice) Acosta of San Diego; daughter Katherine Acosta of California; sister Mary (Joe) Miers of California; daughter-in-law Juanita Acosta of Oahu; caregiver/granddaughter Michelle “Roz” Acosta; seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, July 28, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 to 9:45 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
