Marian “Ma” Panui Agena of Lihu‘e died July 5, 2009, at Garden Isle Healthcare at age 89. Born in Nawiliwili on Aug. 12, 1919, she was a retired waitress at Kaua‘i Surf Hotel.
She was preceded in death by husband Shiro “Bob” Agena; parents James Ku and Lilia Panui; brothers James Ku Panui Sr., George Panui, Harry Panui, Edward Panui and Henry Panui; sisters Julie Naito, Lily Grillot and Emma Anana.
She is survived by daughters Maureen (Raymond) Rapozo of Lihu‘e and Lois (Steven) Plahy of Honolulu; sons Lawrence (Audrey) Agena of Honolulu and Robert (Tassie) Agena of Lihu‘e; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister-in-law Alice Panui of Kapa‘a; brother-in-law Raymond Grillot of Las Vegas, Nev.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.

MacArthur Dela Cruz Sr. of Kekaha died July 2, 2009, at age 64. Born Oct. 17, 1944, in Waimea, he retired from Kekaha Sugar Co. and Syngenta.
He was preceded in death by son Darren Dela Cruz, parents Vicente and Rose Mary Dela Cruz and brothers Rudy and Gilbert Dela Cruz.
He is survived by wife Linda Dela Cruz; sons MacArthur “Bae” (Jodie) Dela Cruz Jr. and Doren Dela Cruz; brother Robert Dela Cruz; sister Gladys Cherry; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m., service from 10:30-11 a.m., Saturday, July 18, at
MacArthur Park in Kekaha.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.

Sally Shigeyo Akazawa of Hanapepe died June 25, 2009, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at age 88. Born May 5, 1921, in Koloa, she was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her son Dennis Akazawa.
She is survived by husband Harry Akazawa, daughters Karen (Glenn) Hori and Colleen (Akira) Tsukimoto, grandchildren Tai and Erin Tsukimoto, brothers Ronald (Carol) Mizobe and John (Emily) Mizobe and sisters Kiyono Mizobe and Sadae Fujii.
