Mahalo to Bev Brody for the heads-up on Canada Day (no wonder they call her Miss Canada). She’s busy getting ready to join Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. in the Walking Bus event that starts tomorrow.
It’s a walking bus because the mayor (and Bev) walk a route and pick up people along the way — everyone getting a chance to chat with the mayor. Gotta check it out.
Mahalo to Angela Vento and Elli Gorman on the update of the Koloa duck ‘ohana at the Sheraton Kaua‘i koi ponds. Angela (she was at the Aloha ‘Ike fundraiser) said one of the young ducks is really big now.
Theresa Koki of the county’s anti-drug office said former UH quarterback Colt Brennan will be at both of the Wednesday football clinics.
He’ll join Hawai‘i coach Greg McMackin and the Warrior football coaching staff at the free clinics that start today.
Ariel Lahip and P.J. Oligo were thrilled when they found out that Miss Kaua‘i Krystal Ijima (she said we should’ve watched the Miss Hawai‘i pageant) is playing basketball with the Wailua Girls 18 and Over team.
But they couldn’t get Shayna Alop and Cheyanne Duarte to share the same enthusiasm, Friday night.
Lenny Rapozo will be at the Merv Lopes Kaua‘i Classic starting Wednesday at Island School. Check it out.
