KALAHEO — Jayme Jacinto barely had time to switch jersies, Friday night.
Jacinto, a Waimea High School student, finished with eight points in each of two games she played during the Kaua‘i Youth Basketball Association games at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
During her first outing, Jacinto came alive with six third quarter points, a pair of bombs launched from outside the three-point arc, en route to her game-total eight points in Waimea’s 36-24 loss to the Kapa‘a Titaz in a Girls 17 and Under match.
She reversed the position in her second game as she joined sister Joanna Jacinto and Virginia Aguilar, a college volleyball standout in Oklahoma, to finish with eight points each in Pop It’s 43-19 win over Wailua in a Girls 18 and Over match.
Jacinto was not alone in double-duty performance as the Cadiente sisters, Kathleen and Kelsey, also led their teams in two games.
Kathleen finished with seven points to lead Kaulupono in its 33-23 loss to the Gee’s Angels in the first of two Girls 17 and Under matches.
She came back to lead Wailua with four points in its loss to Pop It in the Girls 18 and Over division.
Kelsey joined Sanoe Kaohelaulii with six points in the Kaulupono game before joining Lauren James and Krystal Ijima, the reigning Miss Kaua‘i, with three points apiece for the Wailua effort.
The Gee’s Angels were led by Leinaala McCabe and Jessie Aki with 14 and six points, respectively.
Lahela Creamer and Mahea Hanie-Grace each netted nine points with Ash-Lyn Lee adding six points and numerous first-half boards in Kapa‘a Titaz’s win over Waimea.
Paige Connelly and Bristy-Ann Agu each finished with six points and a number of boards as Waimea’s low posts following Jacinto’s lead.
Earlier in the week, Keliikoa Baclayon, recovering from an injury, tried out his wings and finished with nine points in Hanakila’s 36-24 showing over the G-Unit B in a single Boys 14 and Under match, Thursday at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center.
“He said he was going to be cautious and not score,” said Phillip Baclayon, Hanakila’s coach and Keliikoa’s father.
Marlon Cudiamat led the Hanakila effort with 11 points.
Una Masaniai and Makana Aki paced the G-Unit B effort with eight and six points, respectively.
A pair of Boys 18 and Over matches take the court, Sunday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center as the G-Unit takes on Team 1 starting at 6 p.m. followed by Kalepa going up against Notorious starting at 7 p.m.
Playoffs for the Girls 14 and Under start Monday night at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center starting at 6 p.m.
