Scott Dale Lanakila Cruz Wa‘alani Aviguetero died June 20, 2009 at age 25. Born July 8, 1983 in Waimea, Kaua‘i, he was the lead “Truckah” and very proud driver of the 1986 Gold Kenworth Rig W-1.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Frederic C. Aviguetero, maternal grandfather Francis Furtado, niece Anela May Nordmeier and hanai mother Barbara Wa‘alani.
He is survived by his companion and girlfriend Shana Marie Amulacion; parents Douglas and June Aviguetero; sister’s Chanel (Danford) Kaeo, Raquel (Kai) Santos, Devi (Kevin) Nordmeier, Ashlee (Chad) Aviguetero, Makanoe Ayau; brothers Isaiah Kanahele, Brandon Hamada; hanai ‘ohana Rick “Truckah” Wa‘alani Sr., Rileene (Palenapa) Wa‘alani, Richie Wa‘alani Jr., Ryan (Theresa) Wa‘alani; grandparents Kaleo & Marlene Furtado; grandmother Mary Kapahu Aviguetero; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Wake services with visitation at 5 p.m., on Friday, July 3, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Celebration of Life services to start at 7 p.m. Light refreshments and pupus will be served. Aloha Friday attire is requested.
Family and friends can visit with the family at 9 a.m. at The Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church Kekaha Ward – Cultural Hall, on Saturday, July 4. Celebration of Life services at noon in the chapel with burial to follow at the Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
Masuo Kobayashi
Masuo Kobayashi of Kealia died on June 28, 2009 at Garden Isle Healthcare Center at age 79. Born on April 4, 1930 in Makaweli, he was a retired refuse station worker for Kaua‘i County.
He is survived by his wife Hazel Kobayashi, sons Marc Kobayashi and Rickey Kobayashi, daughter Lianne Kobayashi, brothers Yasuto (Sue) Kobayashi and Bobby (June) Kobayashi, sister-in-law Concheta Kobayashi, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, July 4, at Kapa‘a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Service at 10:15 a.m.; burial to follow at Keapana Japanese Cemetery on Hau‘a‘ala Road in Kapa‘a.
Stanley Yamamoto
Stanley Isamu Yamamoto of Honolulu died on June 15, 2009 at age 82. Born on April 1, 1927 in Lihu‘e, he was a retired Department of Education art program specialist.
He is survived by son Wayne of Saratoga, Calif.; daughter Ann of Houston, Texas; brother Richard of Kapa‘a; and two grandchildren.
Visitation at 5:30 p.m., service at 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 8 at Diamond Head Mortuary.
