Congratulations to Marcie Millett and her Nawiliwili Yacht Club ‘ohana on a great fishing tournament.
Corey Nakamura was trying to get Bill Arakaki to come and have his daughter take part in the fun, but the rain must have changed plans. Gordon Higa said the rain was good because just when it started misting, the fish started biting and he got soaked just trying to pull in the fish.
Dick Olsen was busy peddling all those Keiki Fishing Contest T-shirts and still had enough energy to join Rob Goldberg with his Rotary cap on, Monday to present a check to the Friends of the Lihu‘e Library.
Jonell Kaohelauli‘i of Kukui Grove Center said they have two new vendors for its weekly Monday market.
Calvin Fukushima and Kenny Miyoshi, the two Masa’s, have the Masa’s Shave Ice Wagon in place to help beat the heat at 3 p.m. Mondays, joining the Hanalei Taro & Juice Co. wagon (that’s the one with the solar panels on top). Jonell said both wagons will open at 2:30 p.m. (half an hour before the market opens) and stay until 4:30 p.m., or when the action ends. Check it out next Monday.
