The Kawaihau Minors All-Stars came up with eight hits in the bottom of the sixth inning, but dropped its game to Kainalu, 11-9, at the Little League District 1 tournament on O‘ahu, Sunday afternoon.
That loss moves Kawaihau to play the winner of this afternoon’s match on Tuesday afternoon starting at 4 p.m. at the tournament.
Overall, Kawaihau generated a run in the first inning and finished with nine runs on six hits led by Leighton Moniz getting three hits, Makalapa Vidinha-Rivera and Braddah Yam posting two hits apiece. Boogie Yam and Keaho Hopkins each got a hit.
Moniz, Dustin Ramseyer Burdette, Boogie Yam, Aho Hopkins and Bruddah Yam took their turns on the mound.
