Hanakila guard Keliikoa Baclayon finished with a game-high 23 points to lead the Kilauea team to a 56-12 showing over G-Unit in one of two games played Saturday at the Kapa‘a High School gym.
Marlon Cudiamat and Nick Lu added eight and seven points, respectively, for the win in the Kaua‘i Youth Basketball Association 14 and Under summer league.
Leevi Bethel finished with five points and Tyler Fernandez added three points in the G-Unit effort.
Trey Aguano and Kerwin Morano each netted nine points to lead the Kalepa Hillsiders to a 36-15 win over Team Central in the second game of the day.
Cameron Simao finished with seven points to lead the Central effort.
Games move to the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center, Monday where two girls’ games and a single boys’ game is on the schedule.
Starting at 6 p.m., the Kamikaze, undefeated in the season, will match up against the Gee’s Angels followed by Kaulupono taking on the Kapa‘a Titaz starting at 7 p.m. The final Monday contest pits the G-Unit B against Team Central.
Following Monday’s games, there will be no games until Saturday with three games on tap starting at 1 p.m. at the Kapa‘a High School gym.
Starting June 11, the KYBA will be hosting a Boys 17 and Under tournament that runs until June 13 at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
