LIHU‘E — Lucas Gushikuma scored twice to lead Lihu‘e to a 5-1 win over the Hanapepe Cubs, Sunday at the Protect Our Nation’s Youth baseball playoffs at Vidinha Stadium.
Kellen Aquino paced the Lihu‘e win with two hits and scored once as Lihu‘e picked up the win on just three hits.
Hanapepe’s only score came when Isiah Aguinaldo scored in the second inning. The Cubs also got three hits in the outing.
The top-seeded Lihu‘e will face Kalawai starting at 4:15 p.m., Thursday at Vidinha Stadium. Kalawai, seeded in the field of six teams, earned the right to face the regular season champions by defeating Kekaha 10-8 in a Sunday game at Kalawai Park.
Kekaha gets a bye until June 2 when it hosts the winner of the Kapa‘a/Hanapepe matchup that will play Wednesday afternoon at Hanapepe Stadium.
Kapa‘a earned the right to the Hanapepe rematch by virtue of a 27-0 shutout over Koloa during the Sunday playoffs at Kalawai Park.
