Mahalo to Puanani Carvalho and Mia Pauletto for being such great mind readers and knowing how we’d like to share the results of the Walter Smith Regatta that opened the paddling regatta season, Saturday.
Mahalo to Freckles Smith and his ‘ohana for letting us overflow crowd use the island so we could enjoy the races, too. The only problem was hearing about the food booth and not having a way to get over the water. Maybe we’ll do kayaks the next time.
OK, so there’s no Polynesian Festival on the horizon for this weekend, but check out Kyle Oshima and his Lihu‘e Baseball League and Da Bash happening at the Lihu‘e County Park. Kyle said there’re seven Mustang and nine Bronco teams from off-island coming to this year’s event.
Karen and Steven Matsumoto have three 14 and Under basketball teams coming for a tournament starting Friday (it’s Nicole Palacio’s birthday so her team plays first), and make sure you shoehorn the Memorial Day services at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery, Monday, starting at 10 a.m.
Stay safe, there’ll be a lot of cars out there!
