LIHU‘E — The family of a 23-year-old man who went missing while visiting Kaua‘i early in 2008 has established a $5,000 reward for information on his whereabouts, according to the man’s father. Jesse Glen Pinegar arrived on Kaua‘i on Jan.
LIHU‘E — The family of a 23-year-old man who went missing while visiting Kaua‘i early in 2008 has established a $5,000 reward for information on his whereabouts, according to the man’s father.
Jesse Glen Pinegar arrived on Kaua‘i on Jan. 18, 2008, and was last heard from on March 24, 2008, according to his father, Mark.
According to e-mails from his father, Pinegar was last seen around Haena Beach Park and also near the trailhead at Ke‘e Beach.
The man’s abandoned campsite was found May 16, 2008, near the Kalalau Trail at Waiahuakua Valley, about five miles into the trail.
Pinegar may have passed away somewhere near Waiahuakua Valley, or between four and five miles into the trail, his father said.
County officials confirmed this week that Pinegar remains missing.
Pinegar’s family said a $5,000 reward is offered for either confirmed proof that Pinegar is alive or confirmed proof that Pinegar has passed away.
Pinegar was described as a 6-foot, 1-inch Caucasian man with brown hair and brown eyes weighing between 165 and 185 pounds. He has two tattoos: a Celtic tree of life on his right shoulder, and a Celtic boar with the number 777 below its snout on his left side.
