Annie Kaui Smythe of Kapa‘a died April 23, 2009, at home at age 75. Born May 31, 1933, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughter-in-law Clorinda (Paul Jr.) Brede; brothers Oliver (Mew Lang) Pickford of Honolulu, William (Jung) Kaohi of Honolulu, Kawika Kahanu of California; sister Julia Solomon of Honolulu; grandchildren Jennifer (Alfonso) Smythe, Timothy (Liana) Smythe Jr. and Brandon Brede; great-grandchildren Kaimana Kaauwai and Keolamana Giltner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service at 10 a.m.
Burial to follow at 12:15 p.m. at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Violet S. Bukoski died May 11, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 89. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by son Gerald Bukoski and husband Lawrence Bukoski.
She is survived by children Priscilla Bukoski, Geraldine Kauai and Yvonne (Stephen) Ruiz; grandchildren Melissa (Paul) Matias, Stephen (Karen), Keith (Marleen), John (Chelsie), David Ruiz, Marlene (Hughes) Ebinger, David Kauai Jr. and Jerilee Bukoski; three sisters; one brother; two sisters-in-law; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15, at St. Raphaels Catholic Church in Koloa; Mass at noon.
Burial to follow.

Maria Manzano
Maria Manzano of Waimea died May 7, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 91. Born April 2, 1918, in the Philippines, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughters Teresita (Antonio) Dingle and Marcy (Bernard) Riola, sons Edmar (Myrna) Manzano and Romulo (Emelda) Manzano, 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kaumakani; services 10 a.m.

Margaret Fuyuko Yamaguchi of Wailua Homesteads died May 7, 2009, at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital at age 93. Born Nov. 25, 1915, in Wailua Homesteads, she retired as a sales clerk with Kaua‘i Stores.
She is survived by children Walter Yamaguchi, Janet Ito and Daniel (Karen) Yamaguchi, all of Kapa‘a; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Private services were held. Family requests no Koden.

Kii Inouye
Kii Inouye of Koloa died May 2, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 93. Born Sept. 30, 1915, in Koloa, she was a housekeeper with Prince Kuhio Hotel.
She is survived by sons Allen (Tomo) Inouye of Hacienda Heights, Calif., Marvin (Cherylyn) Inouye of Wailua Homestead, Roger (Susan) Inouye of Kaneohe, O‘ahu; daughter Faith (Elmer) Muraoka of Lihu‘e; seven grandchildren; sisters Harue Okimoto of Honolulu and Kimie (Tamotsu) Hiraoka of Waimea; and numerous nieces and nephews

Grace Leolani Apana of Kapa‘a died April 22, 2009, at Pali Momi Hospital at age 70. Born Feb. 27, 1939, in Lihu‘e, she was an executive/part owner of Smith’s Motor Boat Services.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald K.H. Apana Sr.
She is survived by son Boy; daughters Puanani (Duane) Wakuta, Suzie (Keali‘i) Dabin, Momi (Francis) Kapana and Chanel (Tim) Higgins; brother Walter “Freckles” (Moki) Smith Jr.; sisters Pelma Larsen, Charlotte Kaui; grandchildren Tehani, Chivas, Shaundy, Shawna, Jetsen, Chandis, Kia, Keanu, Chaz, Chassidy, Kaeo and Duaney Boy; great-granddaughter Khloe; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation 1-2:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church; services begin at 3 p.m.
Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
