Tomoe Higa of Koloa died April 14, 2009. She was born in Koloa.
She was preceded in death by husband Kensei, daughter Charlotte and brothers Hideto and Sunao Yoshimori.
She is survived by sons Gordon (Andra) of Lihu‘e and Eugene Higa of Kihei, Maui; daughter Jennifer Higa of Koloa; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Tamotsu Yoshimori of Koloa; sisters Fumie Yamasaki of Honolulu and Marjory (Stan) Kinoshita of Hilo.
Private services were held.

Annie Kaui Smythe of Kapa‘a died April 23, 2009, at home at age 75. Born May 31, 1931, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughter-in-law Clorinda (Paul Jr.) Brede; brothers Oliver (Mew Lang) Pickford, William (Jung) Kaohi, Kawika Kahanu; sister Julia Solomon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service at 10 a.m.
Burial to follow at 12:15 p.m. at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
