Join Garden Island Singers 7:30 p.m. Saturday or 5 p.m. Sunday at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church for their spring concert “Singin’ in the Spirit.” This Kaua‘i Community College program will open with John Rutter, “Magnificat,” followed by energetic spirituals arranged by leading arranger Moses Hogan and Robert Ray’s “Gospel Mass.”
Other songs to be performed are “Bye Bye Love,” “Good Night Sweetheart” (tenors and basses), “Proud Mary,” “Fun, Fun, Fun” and “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In.”
Advance tickets: $8, adults; $5, students; $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from chorale members or call director Lois Ricciardi, 822-5633. Proceeds, after expenses, go to assist former member Warren Dastrup in physical therapy after a serious body boarding accident. There will also be a calabash for anyone wishing to contribute directly to him.
