According to a press release, local and neighbor island business representatives were invited to attend the blessing that was performed by Kaua‘i kumu, Kahu Ipo Kahaunaele-Ferreira.
“The opening of American Electric’s Kaua‘i branch office and establishing a permanent presence on island is a key part of the company’s strategic plan,” said Tom Vincent, CEO of American Electric in a written statement. “We see tremendous opportunity in providing comprehensive electrical solutions to the island’s infrastructure, its businesses, and the construction market. We look forward to servicing the people of Kauai and becoming a supportive member of the business community.”
The press release goes on to say that American Electric is currently working with Kaua‘i construction company, Unlimited Construction on the “One-Stop Center” project at Kaua‘i Community College. The project, which is in the second of two phases, is expected to culminate in December.
The company is also reportedly engaged in several other projects on Kaua‘i including the Princeville Library and has recently completed work for the Transportation Security Administration on the x-ray machines at Lihu‘e Airport.
