Ernie was breakfasting at Wal-Mart (Thursday was a good day for that) and Bill Troutman found out how many people read TGI and how he spent his birthday. He was preparing for the flood advisory that appeared on the NOAA Web site earlier in the morning.
Kudos to Greg Gonsalves and Calvin Paleka for moving the 2009 KIF Qualifying Tennis Tournament along so all play could be completed, and the weather held up so the PONY baseball could even be played at Kalawai Park (Carl Tashima wanted to know if having an umbrella qualified for being in the paper).
Ross Shimabukuro did a Puka Dog run for lunch and Scott Nakamatsu had the right idea, bringing along the Ishihara Market lunches. Mike Kikugawa had the right idea with his Subway sandwich, and you know the tournament counts when Juan Lorenzo shows up with his camera.
OK, time to go visit Helena Cooney and the Kiwanis for their French (Toast) Breakfast at Wilcox School cafeteria, Sunday. After that, check out the Kodomo no Hi (Wanda Shibata and her son are having the shoyu chicken plate lunch before going fishing) at the Lihu‘e Hongwanji preschool in Kapa‘ia.
