Setsuo Charles Ishii of ‘Ele‘ele died April 7, 2009, at home at age 72. Born April 29, 1936, in Koloa he was a retired irrigator for McBryde and Kauai Coffee.
He was preceded in death by father Suke Ishii; mother Kane Ishii; and sisters Kikue Nagato, Yaeko Ishii and Helen Ota.
He is survived by wife Alma (Yanagimoto) Ishii of ‘Ele‘ele; daughters Lori (Chad) Cabral of Hanapepe and Leann Ishii (Wayne Matsushima) of ‘Ele‘ele; granddaughters Chandi Cabral and Leiani Matsushima; brothers Akira (Linda) Ishii of Koloa, Takeishi (Reiko) Ishii of California; sisters Hatsuyo Maeda of Lihu‘e, Haruko Otsubo of Lihu‘e, Tomiko (Kinjro) Kabazawa of Kalaheo and Lillian (Roy) Makizuru of Koloa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery Pavilion.; memorial service at 11 a.m.
Interment to follow.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers will be accepted.

Leoncia Cadavona Acob died March 20, 2009, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home in ‘Oma‘o at age 100. Born Jan. 11, 1909, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by husband Cornelio Acob, son Faustino Acob and daughter Leonora Acob.
She is survived by daughter Christina Acob (Epifanio) Batangan of Lihu‘e; grandchildren Edwin (Donna Yokoyama) Batangan of Costa Mesa, Calif., Emilie Batangan of Honolulu, Reuben (Lyla Eldredge) Batangan of Kahului, Maui, and Elsie (Glenn Perry) Batangan of Honolulu; great-grandchildren Kelson Batangan, Jarin Batangan, Justin Batangan, Megan Batangan and Jordan Batangan Perry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing 8:15-9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, at Immaculate Conception Church, Kapaia Road, Lihu‘e; Mass at 10 a.m.
Burial at Lihue Cemetery Association.
