Florence Rapozo
Florence Sachiko Honjo-Rapozo of Kalaheo died April 3, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 78. Born March 10, 1931, in Kalaheo, she was a bookkeeper at the National Tropical Botanical Garden.
She was preceded in death by husband John P. Rapozo Sr., father Iwakichi Honjo, mother Mitsuyo Honjo and brother Robert Honjo.
She is survived by brothers Walter (Magdalina) Honjo and Henry (Elizabeth) Honjo, both of Kalaheo; stepsons John Rapozo Jr. of Makaweli, Wayne Rapozo and Chad Rapozo; stepdaughter Cheree Vasconcelles of Lawa‘i; brothers-in-law Manny (Charmaine) Rapozo of Kekaha, and George (Marlene) Rapozo of Washington; sisters-in-law Louise (Jerry) Ibsen of Wailua and Angie Suzuki of Makaweli; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is 3 to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 10, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service at 4 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested.

Wayne Kahalekomo Sr.
Wayne K. Kahalekomo Sr. of Anahola died March 21, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 56. Born Aug. 11, 1952, in Waimea, he was a tour bus driver for Kauai Island Tours.
He was preceded in death by mother Violet Wehina Niau.
He is survived by wife Sheridan Kahalekomo of Anahola; father George (Malia) Kahalekomo Jr. of Makaweli; sons Wayne (Kanoe) Kahalekomo Jr., Wally (Josi) Kahalekomo, both of Utah; stepson Cletis (Beatrice) Costa of Honolulu; stepdaughter Nola DeSilva of Honolulu; brother George (Teal) Kahalekomo III of Waimanalo; sister Valerie (Terry) Jackson of Florida; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Duane Yazarian
Duane Aram Yazarian of Princeville died March 17, 2009, at age 69. Born Feb. 3, 1940, in Illinois, he was a teacher, healer, therapist and volunteer “uncle” with Aloha School in Hanalei.
He was preceded in death by wife Alea.
He is survived by sister Sandra Schnurr, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Thomas McCarthy
Thomas Patrick McCarthy of Hanalei died March 31, 2009, at age 53. Born Feb. 15, 1956, in Honolulu, he was an insecticide applicator for Princeville Golf Course and taro farmer for Harada’s Taro Farm.
He was preceded in death by parents James and Eleanor McCarthy and sister Patricia Duh.
He is survived by daughters Thomasyna (Al) Bungula of Puhi, Jamery (Isaac) McCarthy of Kapa‘a and Kahea (Keola) McCarthy of Kapa‘a; son Turbo McCarthy of Hanalei; hanai parents Yoshi and Nani Harada of Hanalei; eight grandchildren; sisters Gwen (Evans) Shimoda of Honolulu, Marlene (Glen Don) Fivella of Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 10 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, at Lihu‘e Veterans Center; services at noon.
Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Valentine Adric Jr.
Valentine “Babe” “Papa” Adric Jr. died March 29, 2009, at age 58. Born Sept. 2, 1950, in Honolulu, he retired as a telephone splicer with Hawaiian Telephone Company.
He was preceeded in death by parents Valentine “Empa” Adric and Amy Lou “Emma” Adric, sister Naomi Akiu of Hilo and granddaughter Hi‘ilei Hooikaika of Anahola.
He is survived by wife Blossom Maile Adric of Anahola; daughters Valerie (Johnathan) Caminos and Ellen (Billy) Hooikaika; sons Kolo (Liana) Adric, Elvin Adric, Alika (Pi‘i) Adric and hanai son Kawika “Chuuch” Kahaunaele, all of Anahola; sisters Kathryn “Irish” (Jimmy) Lontayao of Hilo, Sunny Honda of Anahola; brothers Rodney “Oggie” (Charlene) Adric of Kapa‘a, Gary (Brenda) Adric of Anahola and Joseph (Grace) Adric of Kapa‘a; brother-in-law George Akiu; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Anahola Beach.
