Jefferson Johnson
Jefferson Pekelo Johnson of Kapa‘a died March 23, 2009, at Leeward Integrated Health Services at age 77. Born Dec. 6, 1931, in Kapa‘a, he was a groundskeeper at Westin Kauai.
He was preceded in death by parents David Johnson and Hattie Kaui Agayan, and brothers Harrison Kaui Johnson and David “Kawika” Johnson.
He is survived by sisters Emma Peralta of Makakilo, Ruby Atkins of Wirtz, Va., and Caroline Saronitman of Lihu‘e; brother Carl “Kalani” Agayan of Kapa‘a; stepfather, Dominado Agayan of Kapa‘a; stepsisters Barbara Ann Corpuz of Lihu‘e and May Bueno of ‘Ele‘ele; caregiver Carmelita Coloma of Coloma Care Home; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation 8 a.m., Saturday, April 4, at Immaculate Conception Church; services 10 a.m.

Edward T. Martin of Lihu‘e died March 24, 2009, at home at age 67. Born May 4, 1941, in Michigan, he was the owner/operator of Kauai Safety Agency.
He is survived by partner Ruth; son Edward and daughter Jodi, both of Oregon; grandchildren Erin, Dylan and Rachel; and friends and family.
Visitation 1 p.m. on Saturday at St. Catherine’s Church; services at 2 p.m.
Scattering of ashes will be Sunday.

Teodorico Felix Geronimo of Kaumakani died March 16, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 86. Born June 28, 1922, in the Philippines, he was a retired plantation worker.

John W. Vogt of Kilauea died March 20, 2009, at Queens Hospital in Honolulu at age 89. Born Sept. 3, 1919, in New York, he was an insurance broker.
He was preceded in death by father John A. Vogt and mother Grace Mantz.
He is survived by wife Doria J. Vogt, daughter Claudia Wedel, son-in-law Trey Wedel, granddaughters Anna Wedel and Kate Wedel, and sisters Grace Prusik and Betty Kelley.

She was preceded in death by John Sincock, parents Harold and Margaret Lininger and brother James Lininger.
She is survived by George Sueoka; Richard Sugawa; daughter Cindy L. Matsumoto of Corralitos, Calif.; sister Janet Hout of Warren, Ohio; grandchildren Ryder M. Matsumoto and Mandy H. Matsumoto, both of Koloa; great-grandchildren Braighden H. Matsumoto-Awakuni and Briaghane Matsumoto-Awakuni, both of Koloa.

Shoichi Igarashi of Lihu‘e died March 18, 2009, at home at age 80. Born Jan. 30, 1929, in Kalaheo, he retired as a plumber with the state of Hawai‘i.
He was preceded in death by sister Yaeko Kimura and brother-in-law Norman Kimura.
He is survived by wife Nobue Igarashi of Lihu‘e; stepchildren Beverly (Mike) Nagano of Lihu‘e, Valerie (Alan) Silva of Lihu‘e, Lana (Manny) Corregedore Jr. of Lihu‘e, Lee (Sherri) Yasutake of Lihu‘e, Daryl (Jacqueline) Yasutake of Kapa‘a, Dewey (Pha) Yasutake of Honolulu, Lisa (Warren) Koga of Lihu‘e; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stanley Kiyoshi Hanzawa of Aiea, O‘ahu, died March 12, 2009, at age 52. Born Feb. 26, 1957, in Honolulu, he was a project coordinator for Oceanic Time Warner Cable and a member of the IBEW Union.
He was preceded in death by parents Tamie “Baggy” and Yaeko Hanzawa of Aiea.
He is survived by sisters Susan (Leland) Kahawai of Lihu‘e and Sharon Tomita of Kaneohe; and Jordan and Nicole Kahawai and Sarah Tomita.
