Mahalo to Ernie Blachowiak for doing such a great job hosting KIF tennis, Wednesday.
Eddie Kane (yep, that’s the same inline hockey player for the Midget division) was coaching, and Michael Fujikawa (yep, that’s another hockey player) were watching Ryan Bieker go up against Sam Dunham.
Ross Shimabukuro said he was at tennis early and left to take in the baseball game. Art Oketani got to try out one of Manny Henriques’ long zooms and Andrew Ouderkirk’s dad ran out of tape since the game went over three hours.
Coach Darrell Borrero was enjoying the game and said Mililani ended up winning the Waimea Softball Invitational Tournament. It came down to Mililani and Mid-Pacific playing in the finals. In the meantime, today is the KIF softball opener in Waimea (what’s the special at Ishihara Market?)
Arthur Brun was at the baseball game and said Syngenta Seeds is doing its monthly benefit lunch next week to help the Waimea High School volleyball program since they haven’t done any fundraisers, yet.
Out on the Westside, mahalo to Bruce Pleas for all the information on the Polihale tour with Sen. Gary Hooser, Steve Thompson and Eric Hirano (his family is from the Big Island Hirano Store fame).
OK, time to go check out the Texas Hold ‘Em and Eric Sakazaki (gotta see if Domi Alayvilla makes the cut).
