All 11 American Contract Bridge League sanctioned duplicate clubs across Hawai‘i competed. Over 400 players participated across the state.
The Sunset Bridge Club in Princeville was the coordinating club for Kaua‘i players as well as players from Arizona, Washington and Oregon.
The tournament format was Masterpoint stratified, meaning players were ranked as A, B or C players to even the competition. All competitors across the state played the identical computer generated hands at the same local time over the three hours of play.
