KAPA‘A — A four-car crash closed the Kapa‘a bypass road for roughly 50 minutes Wednesday afternoon and caused minor injuries, county spokeswoman Mary Daubert said.
A flagman in a construction area on the road near Calvary Chapel was signaling four Lihu‘e-bound vehicles to stop around 2:30 p.m. The first three drivers yielded but the fourth failed and rear-ended the car in front of it, causing a chain reaction.
Three female juveniles sustained minor injuries in the wreck. They were taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released.
The road reopened around 3:20 p.m.
