KAPA‘A — Trevor McCracken of Da Eh Team scored 11 goals as the Bantam greenshirts swept its weekend series in the Kaua‘i Inline Hockey Association games at the Kapa‘a rink.
McCracken netted seven goals in Da Eh Team’s 9-6 win over The Devils, Friday night. He followed that with four goals in the team’s 7-4 win over Team Todd, Sunday afternoon.
Following McCracken, Matthias Davis netted two second-half goals and a first-half assist, Friday. With his parents cheering in the stands, Sunday, Davis finished with a hat trick and two assists in the victories.
Friday night goalkeeper Grant Basquez finished with 27 saves on 33 shots before relinquishing the net to goalkeeper Daniel Alonzo who finished with 41 saves on 45 shots, Sunday.
Cydney Sitzler netted a hat trick for the Devils, Friday night followed by Austin Taylor netting a pair of goals. Marcus Punua finished with a goal and an assist in the effort.
Devils’ goalkeeper Luke Boyd finished with 33 saves on 42 shots.
Kala Yee got a lot of support from his Team Todd rinkmates as he led the Sunday effort with a goal and two assists as the blueshirts took a 3-2 halftime lead before being outscored 5-1 by Da Eh Team in the second half.
Ben Steuri, Jacob Lewis and Noah Leggett netted a goal each for Team Todd. Stephanie Steuri, the Team Todd goalkeeper, finished with 42 saves on 49 shots.
Midget division
The Midget “A” team split its series, taking a 10-1 win over Midget “B,” Friday night before dropping a 4-3 heartbreaker, Sunday.
John Masterson and Mark Wojcinski had the hot sticks, Friday night, each netting a hat trick to lead the Midget “A” scoring. The pair was followed by Eddie Kane and Brandon Muraoka, each finishing with two goals and an assist.
Sitzler had the sole goal for Midget “B” in the second half, Friday.
Midget “A” goalie Greg Balmores finished Friday with 34 saves on 35 shots before dropping to 32 saves on 34 shots, Sunday.
Jaime Pablo, the Midget “B” goalie, ended Friday night with 34 saves on 44 shots and 31 saves on 34 shots, Sunday.
Trevor McCracken netted a hat trick in Midget “B’s” Sunday win followed by Tyson Wakayama netting a goal and two assists. Zachary Rodrigues finished with two assists and Cydney Sitzler added an assist.
Squirt division
The Green Machine swept its weekend series with a 9-6 win over the Devils, Friday night and a 6-1 win over the Squirt “B,” Sunday.
Kalena Harder paced the Machine’s Friday night win on five goals and an assist followed by Victor Sanchez netting two goals and an assist. Shannon Sitzler netted a goal and two assists and Kainalu Gandia finished with a goal. Derek Soong, first-time player this season, finished with three assists.
Isaac Lakatos finished with four goals to lead the Devils, Friday night. He was followed by Luke Boyd netting a goal and two assists. Thor Haughland finished with a goal and an assist.
Gandia stepped up for a hat trick, Sunday followed by Shannon Sitzler netting two goals for the Machine. Luke Boyd finished with a goal and two assists.
Isaac Lakatos had the sole goal for the Squirt “B.”
