Terri Maguire (congratulations to the Kapa‘a High School girls basketball team on its undefeated season) said house cleaning is going to have to wait. She coached the Warrior wahine to its final win Friday, and then realized that she had the Power Tournament Saturday.
Tori Tuttle was part of that winning Warrior team and then helping coach the Kapa‘a Under 12 team at the tournament. Having the “Maile” shirt on was a switch since the Baby Tuttles usually have the “Tori” shirt on.
Speaking of shirts, Jessilyn Aki said the supporter shirts for Kapa‘a were designed by Mai’lika Napoleon. OK, Warrior fans, hang on to them because they’ll become valuable when Mai’lika gets famous.
Peter Rayno was officiating the JV game, but following that joined Jim Robinson of Minnesota for some tips on coordinating officials.
Gary Maguire even got Jim’s card and when Bev Pang showed up, it was almost the Wal-Mart club. Grandpa Baco and Grandma Soly Fernandez didn’t come to watch Topaz play so the key elements were missing.
Coach Orlando Anaya took time out of daughter Kesia’s game in Kilauea (Maguire was doing site coordination up there) to break the news about Casie Ford in the finals of the HHSAA swim meet on O‘ahu, and Brandon Fujita was already worrying about watching the Kapa‘a boys on OC16.
