LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i rotary clubs are accepting nominations for their humanitarian awards, a news release states.
Nominations of individuals working in the following categories are being sought: firefighter, police officer, water safety officer, healthcare worker, social worker, homeless care worker.
The rotary clubs on Kaua‘i would like to honor those that are “working in the trenches” during this rotary year, the release says. The six clubs on Kaua‘i have partnered to recognize individuals in these six categories and will honor those selected at a dinner on March 5 at the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort.
Criteria and nomination forms are available at the Bone and Joint Center at Kauai Medical Clinic and the UPS store at Kukui Grove and online at www.rotaryd5000.org/KauaiClubs.cfm.
Nomination deadline is Feb. 24. Nominations must include the completed nomination form and an essay of not more than 250 words describing why the nominee should be selected. The clubs are looking for individuals that are well-grounded in areas of his or her assignment; deal with problems/conflicts professionally; contribute to colleagues’ growth and development; are dedicated to his or her field of work; and show genuine aloha for those in which they serve.
