Hats off to Tom Tannery and all of the East Y’s Men’s Club on another successful Youth Fun Run! Mahalo, too, to Donna Schulze for the reminder phone calls.
Kudos to KCC Chef instructor Jason Sunada and his first-year culinary arts students on a great start for the KCC Bake Sale! People were waiting in line (Jane Awa needed to be reminded by TGI article) for the doors to open, but Krystal Ijima had the best idea — get lunch before the line starts — and Joseph Vegas was able to sneak in and get his goodies between chores.
Ron Motosue is another of the KCC grounds people and made it a point to check out the Red Raider boys soccer Wednesday night.
Jolynne Uyesono was pleased with how the KCC bookstore’s Tech Fair turned out, and is now contemplating how to get more education people involved in future fairs. The Apple rep is gone, but Noel Mock still has a MacBook set up (Jolynne likes the ‘Golden Oldies’ section of iTunes) as well as a Touch iPod, and there are still some specials.
But the chicken skin event was when coach Timmy Ibia and Kevin Matsunaga had the Lihu‘e Baseball League Braves come out to help raise awareness for bone marrow registry. Mahalo to the motorists who honked their support — you just don’t know what kind of impact it had on Cathy Stibbard’s daughter and son.
