Kelvin Moniz is still on vacation (much deserved after working so hard in the Kaua‘i Food Bank holiday food and fund drive), but Analyn Flores (gotta watch her can-can routine coming up) is back at work.
Next on the vacation calendar is Judy Lenthall, who takes off on Donald Fujimoto’s birthday (it’s also Ronald Fujimoto, the doctor’s, day).
Coach Billy Brown is still excited about how great a swim the first KIF qualifying swim meet was…how many KIF records fell? Mahalo to him and his staff for getting results out quickly.
Cindy Oshiro (she’s a cohort teacher) was out at the Sunday AJA games to watch son Austin finish with 2 RBI in Lihu‘e’s win over Kapa‘a, and Mamo Wakuta (related to Brad?) was out in the stands with his jacket since the sun couldn’t erase the cold from the wind. Karl Tashima was there, so now we know it’s baseball!
And between innings is a great time to catch up on the latest football and soccer happenings with coaches Trent Shimabukuro (notice how big Trey looks in a baseball uniform?) and Scott Shimabukuro.
OK, time to hele on to Kapa‘a and check out soccer coach Todd Fuerte (he was helping at the Sunday car wash along with coach Colby Ayonon). Then, it’s off to Waimea for the opening of KIF basketball.
