Noriyuki Kurosaki died on Nov. 26, 2008 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 90.
Born in Ko‘olau, Kaua‘i on June 28, 1918, he was a container supervisor with McCabe, Hamilton & Renny.
Survived by wife, Hideko Kurosaki; son, Alvin; daughters, Jean and Joan all of Lihu‘e; brother, Thomas Kurosaki of Lihu‘e; sisters, Kazue (Wataru) Hiranaka of Lihu‘e and Mitsuko (Fusetsu) Miyazaki of ‘Ele‘ele.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission; service at 3:30 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Edward Lopatka died on Nov. 24, 2008 at home at the age of 78.
Born on Sept. 4, 1930 in Chicago, Ill. he was a retired school psychologist.
Preceeded in death by parents Victoria and Leo Lopatka; twin brother Ted Lopatka.
Survived by wife Linda; mother-in-law Kathryn Lee; daughter Cathy (Mark) Walker of Ill. son Michael (Ann) Rauth of Ill., Amy (Michael) McClain of Lihu‘e, Elizabeth Rauh of Maui, Margaret Rauh of Ill. Mary Rauh of New York, John Paul (Liz) Rauh of N.C.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one niece and one nephew.
A celebration of his life will be held on Dec. 13 at Conception Church with viewing from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. with cremation to follow.
Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Catholic Charities , Kaua‘i Food Bank or Kau‘i Hospice.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Lapoatka family with arrangements.
George Fernandez
George William Fernandez died on Nov. 22, 2008 at the Hospice Hawai‘i, Kailua at age 71.
Born on March 13, 1937 in Paia, Maui, he was retired from the County of Kaua‘i.
Preceeded in death by parents George William Fernandez and Rose Fernandez of Kahalui, Maui.
Survived by wife Lynette Haulani Fernandez of Anahola; sons George “Keoki” (Jennifer) William Fernandez Jr. of Barberton, Ohio, Chono (Tammy) Edward Fernandez of Anahola; daughters Melissa Kaleihauoli Apo of Wailua, Minette Kuupoli (Jeff) Fernandez-Cabral Kanaohe; sisters Rose Marie Shook, Celestine McAllip, Bernadette Talley all of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday with visitation from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Dec. 1 at St. Catherine Church and Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at Kaua‘i Veteran’s Cemetery.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home is assisting the Fernandez family with arrangements.
