Open your eyes, and what do you see?
This gesture is taken for granted by many, including some that have vision problems.
During the economic uncertainty that is affecting people internationally, vision becomes secondary to feeding a family, or keeping a roof over one’s head for many people.
Dr. Larry Sherrer and the staff of the Pacific Eye Center announced that it will be offering its 12th Annual Free Eye Care Day from 1 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 5.
This event, which started with Dr. Greg Naganuma in 1977, offers people a chance to have their eyes checked who otherwise cannot get regular examinations.
For four hours, Sherrer and his staff will give their time and skills to see as many patients as possible on a first-come, first-served basis, and if a need is discovered, to fit them with prescription eyewear.
“This is Pacific Eye Center’s way of helping our community who cannot afford these services due to lack of funds, or no medical insurance,” Sherrer said in a press release.
