Gary Nakagawa
Gary Sadao Nakagawa died Nov. 11, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nev., at the age of 67.
Born August 29, 1941, he was a retired graphic illustrator at Hickam Air Force Base.
Survived by wife Susan Matsuyama-Nakagawa; sons Jarett (Maria) Nakagawa, Duane (Stacie) Nakagawa; sister Violet Doi of Lihu‘e; brother Edwin (Claire) Nakagawa and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. followed by services at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 6, 2008 at Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission. Burial services to follow at 2 p.m. at Kaua‘i Veteran’s Cemetary in Hanapepe.
Antonio Capitle
Antonio V. Capitle died on Nov. 18, 2008 at home in Las Vegas at the age of 57.
Born April 14, 1951, in Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a parking attendant.
Survived by wife Ludivina Capitle; daughters Mary Rose Jose, Ludy Ann Capitle, Lori Anne Capitle and son Anthony “Ronnie” Capitle.
Memorial services will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo on Nov. 29, 2008.

Toshiko Tokita
Toshiko A. Tokita died on Nov. 14, 2008, at at the age of 93.
Born on May 24, 1915, in Lihu‘e she was a sales clerk with Big Save.
Preceeded in death by husband Zen Tokita.
Survived by daughter Mary E. Jones (Chuck) of Napa, Calif., and Adele J. (John) Alfson of Monte Vista, Colo.; brother Takashi Akimoto (Dorothy) of Honolulu and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. with service to follow at 10 a.m. Nov. 29, 2008 at Lihu‘e Christian Church. Casual attire is suggested.

Owen Mamura
Owen Mamura died on Nov. 7, 2008 in Rochester, Minn., at the age of 61.
Born on June 5, 1947, in Lihu‘e, he was an architect.
Preceeded in death by father Misuku Mamura.
Survived by wife Judy of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; son Matthew and (Nikki McKay) of Minneapolis, Minn; daughter Marcie of Eugene, Oregon; mother Fujiko Mamura of Hamama‘ulu, sister Gail (Nando) Rombaoa of Oahu; brother Nathan (Pranorm) Mamura of Japan.
Services were held on Nov. 14, 2008 in Sioux City Iowa.
Peter Carvalho Sr.
Peter P. Carvalho Sr. died on Nov. 7, 2008, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 85.
Born March 17, 1923 in Wailuku, Maui, he was a cannery foreman.
Survived by sons Peter P. Carvalho Jr., Daniel K. Carvalho, Matthew Carvalho, Thomas Carvalho; daughters Katherine K. Humiston, Rose E.N. Machuca; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are pending.

Seio Ikehara
Seio Ikehara died on Nov. 17, 2008 at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 79.
Born April 12, 1929 in Kapa‘a he was a diesel mechanic with Lihu‘e Plantation.
Survived by wife Sachiko Ikehara; son Bryan Ikehara of Pearl City, Honolulu; daughters Linden (Derek) Fujise, Gwen (Gideon) Yasay, Mina (Lance) Kaibayashi, and Lisa (Clyde) Ikehara all of Kapa‘a; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother Keiji Ikehara of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister Haruko Ikehara of Honolulu; numerous nieces nephews and cousins.

George Fernandez
George William Fernandez died on Nov. 22, 2008 at the Hospice Hawaii, Kailua at 71.
Born on March 13, 1937 in Paia, Maui he was retired from the County of Kaua‘i.
Preceeded in death by parents George William Fernandez and Rose Fernandez of Kahalui, Maui.
Survived by wife Lynette Haulani Fernandez of Anahola; sons George “Keoki” (Jennifer) William Fernandez Jr. of Barberton, Ohio, Chono (Tammy) Edward Fernandez of Anahola; daughters Melissa Kaleihauoli Apo of Wailua, Minette Kuupoli (Jeff) Fernandez-Cabral Kanaohe; sisters, Rose Marie Shook, Celestine McAllip, Bernadette Talley, all of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, with visitation from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Dec. 1, at St. Catherine Church and Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Burial at Kaua‘i Veteran’s Cemetary.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home is assisting the Fernandez family with arrangements.
